Originally built in 1913, the former printing press warehouse is now a collection of vintage lofts, urban townhomes and new lofts at one of the newest revitalizing neighourhoods in the city. Queen St E & Carlaw is rapidly changing with new shops and restaurants opening in Leslieville. The Printing Factory Lofts has about 256 suites and is only 8 storeys tall. Suites range in size from 459 sq ft to 1567 sq ft.
The project was developed by Beaverbrook Homes and was completed in 2010. It's one of the few buildings that includes 'hard lofts' on the lower levels and 'soft lofts' on the upper levels. Hard lofts typically have more character including exposed brick and very high ceilings. Soft Lofts have other benefits, usually better sound insulation between the suites and structural pillars more conveniently located.
There is also a collection of 44 stacked condo townhomes part of this developement as well.
