SQ stands for: Spadina and Queen, this condo is close to the city’s most important intersection. SQ is a strong investment for so many reasons: SQ is the first stage of a massive revitalization of Alexandra Park by Tridel, the city’s most reputable developer.
Secondly, a convenient location in the heart of downtown with a 98 walk score and 100 transit score, there’s so many shopping and dining amenities in Chinatown and Kensington Market.
Thirdly, walking distance to schools; UofT, OCAD, Ryerson University. Even walking distance to the Financial District, Entertainment District, Hospitals along University Avenue and the unique boutique shopping of Queen Street West. Lastly, easy access to public transit, streetcar and subway.
We can’t forget that SQ is right next to a large urban park that has a community centre, swimming pool, skating rink and skateboard park. Lastly, suites are outfitted with fibre optic network for fast insuite internet.
SQ is right next door to Alexandra Park, which has been home to public housing since the 1960’s and is set for major revitalization in the next 15 years. This transformation should result in new apartments for current residents, better parks and more connected streets.
The architecture is pretty gutsy; SQ looks like it’s constructed out of concrete lego blocks. The suite is 14 storeys high with 241 suites. Suites range in size from 521 square feet to 1,331 square feet. Amenities include the whirlpool, yoga studio, gym, party room and a roof top terrace with a Jacuzzi and an outdoor lounge and dining area.
With all the construction planned in Alexandra Park over the next 15 years, I expect to see lots of noisy construction in the area.
