RCMI Condo is setting a new precedent, a car free building; residents have no parking spots but have access to car sharing program of 9 cars located in the building. There’s also bicycle storage of up to 300 bicyles.
RCMI is located just immediately south of St Patrick’s subway station, with such a central location, one doesn’t need a car when living at RCMI Condo. As well, the building is located just south of 3 major hospitals and 3 universities; University of Toronto, OCAD and Ryerson is a few blocks away. This condo is really popular with medical interns that need to be close to hospitals.
The Royal Canadian Military Institute in a joint venture with Tribute Communities is the builder behind this 42 storey condo. The Royal Canadian Military Institute building was retained for the façade.
The building is made up of 1 bedrooms or 1 plus dens ranging in size from 538 sq ft to 766 sq ft. Given the location and the small size of the suites, this building is ideally suited for singles. The prices seem high considering the small pool of buyers that don’t ever want a car but the location on University is blue chip.
